About Wix
Hosted drag-and-drop builder with an AI chat that drafts a full site, plus apps for bookings, stores, blogs and member areas.
Wix is a hosted website builder with a drag-and-drop editor, templates and its own hosting. Its AI site builder asks about your business in a chat, then produces a first version of the site with pages, text and images that you edit in the normal editor.
Small businesses, freelancers and creators use it for sites that need more than one page: services, bookings, an online store, a blog or member areas. Most of those features come from Wix's own apps, so you rarely need outside plugins, and hosting, security certificates and updates are handled for you.
Things to check: you cannot move a Wix site to another host or download its code, so leaving later means rebuilding. On the classic editor you also can't switch to a different template once a site is live. Page speed depends on how many apps and effects you add, so test it on a phone. The official site lists which features need a paid plan.
