Ghost

Ghost is an open-source publishing platform for blogs, newsletters and paid memberships. Writers publish posts on a fast, clean site and send the same posts as email newsletters, with free and paid member tiers built in.

Independent writers, small media teams and creators who want to own their audience use it instead of a hosted newsletter service. You can run Ghost yourself on your own server for free, or pay for Ghost(Pro), the managed hosting run by the Ghost Foundation, a nonprofit.

Ghost is focused on publishing. It has themes and a few page options, but it is a poor fit for a general business site with many service pages, and complex layouts usually need a custom theme. Paid memberships run through Stripe, so check that Stripe works in your country, and check how much email sending your plan includes if your list is large.
